Nestled within the heart of YCYW, a school with over 90 years of history, the Madam Tsang Chor-hang Heritage Museum is a serene space dedicated to fostering a profound connection to the vast tapestry of human history. Inspired by our founder, Madam Tsang Chor-hang, whose warm smile greeted students every morning at 7:30 AM, this museum embodies humility, reflection, and a forward-looking vision rooted in the lessons of the past.
Housed in a graceful semi-spherical structure extending to the school’s podium, the museum serves as both a heritage institution and the school’s reception, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Its interior design embraces simplicity, pure form, and masterful lighting to create a tranquil, contemplative environment. Polished stainless steel panels and natural elements form a sleek, minimalist backdrop, ensuring that the focus remains on the exhibits themselves.
Ten sliding white panels offer curatorial versatility, supporting dynamic displays of text, artefacts, and interactive elements. These panels can retract to create an open classroom enveloped by Chinese relics, housed in a sleek wall cabinet, anchoring the space in cultural narrative.
Through clean geometries and nuanced lighting, the museum invites contemplation of humanity’s millennia-long journey, fostering humility and inspiring future generations with a timeless connection to Chinese identity.
